Working with Older People

Eldercare

CCM is in regular contact with around 30 local elderly people.  The last year has meant that we have either lost touch or been unable to contact many of our casual acquaintances through residential homes or local church groups.  We hope later this year to re-establish and build on these contacts.  Our lunch club people have numbered around a dozen this last year but we are now growing and welcoming new members.   We have welcomed Katie to be our cook.  This means that as restrictions ease we will be able to resume some activities and craft sessions after our lunch.

Holiday from home

We are hoping to run a holiday at home programme this year.  It will not be as extensive as previous years as restrictions mean many places will still not accept group bookings.  We have a river cruise booked on the Nottingham Princess arranged for late June with another church group.  We hope across the summer to visit Twycross Zoo and a National Trust property.  Afternoon Tea and croquet in early August is also planned.  Local trips to the pub, the Herbert Art Gallery, and others as part of city of culture are also possible.
